Developing New Myths for Mankind

I have two novel and eccentric ideas for new myths for mankind. Neither of them is uniquely mine, but a result of reading diverse modern authors and thinkers.

What if the earth, in some way, became conscious about 150,000 years ago, that it would need an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to continue to sustain life (read DNA based organisms here) in the future? So in its own way it mutated an organism that would eventually grow in number to cover the entire surface, consume fossil fuels and generate a massive overdose of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, thereby heating the planet’s surface and allowing new life to evolve to cope with new conditions to come. Perhaps the sun is about to increase its activities in terms of solar winds and flares and the earth and its inhabitants will have to be ready to cope with this. What if we are just part of a bigger plan to help DNA continue its survival.

And then here’s another one….

What if DNA is water’s way of getting back to the stars? Science has shown that DNA was a mutation of water that occurred about 1 billion years after the formation of the earth. And now finally, a creature has evolved that is capable of carrying DNA into space. So since we are all DNA and mostly water at the core, I guess we are the perfect vehicles for taking them on a trip of the stars – perhaps even home one day to where they came from.

Enjoy the holiday weekend (In the US anyway)!
